Infometrics at the 16th Alpe Adria Forest Olympics

Updated: May 2

The Alpe-Adria Forest Olympics is the forestry competition with the largest number of participants of this kind in Europe, in which 10 countries around the Alps and the Adriatic Sea compete against each other. This year the "olympics" will take place at the Fürstenburg Forestry Institute in Burgeis. Infometrics is attending the event as well this time.

"117 forestry students from more than 20 technical schools from six countries put their chainsaw skills and abilities to test at the 16th Alpe Adria Forestry Olympics in Burgeis on March 21 and 22. With 14 teams, Austria was by far the country with the most participants. There was one team each from Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia and the Czech Republic. Other two teams were from Feltre and Bassano del Grappa. South Tyrol was represented by the technical schools of Fürstenburg and Dietenheim," as reported by the Vinschger (Laner, 2024, march 24).

As a technology partner of Fürstenburg Technical School, Infometrics was also present as an exhibitor at the event this time. Forestry students had the opportunity to try the wood measuring system "the Cubatore" first hand.
